So money. Yep. It’s a pain in the butt most times. Especially when there isn’t enough of it. But what is enough? $2000 a month? $5000 a month? $20,000 a month? Some say it’s the root of all evil… but is it really? When you really think about it, it’s the bad managing of money that is the root. There are people that live comfortably off of minimum wage, and there are those that look like they have it all.. the dream home, the luxury cars, the bags, the shoes, but behind closed doors, are 1 mortgage payment away from bankruptcy.
What do we do? Who taught us about money growing up? Parents? Teachers? The Banks? Not the banks…lol. Unless your parents are millennials, chances are you weren’t taught about money strategies. Millennials are, if ever, the most open about financial situations, so that’s the good news! They are more willing than other generations to share money woes, and be open to advice. More good news, there are ways to learn. And I’m one of them.
Growing up, I was an entrepreneur. Whether I wanted to be or not! It was in my blood from age 10. Nope to band, nope to gymnastics, dance, etc.. I had to roam the neighborhood asking people to take my Regal catelogue and I’d be back in a week to take their order! (Thank God there was no amazon then!) Another week, I would have their order and drop it off in exchange for cash or a cheque!! lol. Seriously, it was the 80s! Not that long ago! But that was it! I was hooked. And no matter how many corporate jobs I got as I grew up and started my career, the calling of entrepreneurship would not leave me alone! Hence, today, I am a money coach, teaching others strategies around money.
It wasn’t a direct path, that’s for sure, but without going though the jiggs and reels of it all, (Is that a Newfoundland reference??? ) I have learned the importance of financial literacy, and the major positive affect it can have on those who search for it. After years of losing sleep and panic attacks over stressing about money, I finally had enough, and did not like the person I was becoming. So I immersed myself in groups, courses, books and podcasts, and got educated on finance. I started to learn better strategies that helped me get a clear picture of what was currently happening, and how to better manage my money. I loved what I learned so much, and it made such a difference in my life, that it became my purpose to help others stop worrying and start planning for a great financial future. I now share what I’ve learned with those who are tired of living paycheque to paycheque, tired of feeling hopeless, and have given up on their dreams of a better life.
I am excited to grow on this journey with you! If you are ready to break free of debt, set goals, and feel excited about the future, then click here for a chat. There is no fee for an initial conversation about where you are now and how I can help with whatever it is that is causing stress around money.
If you are wanting to chat, but fear it, let me be the first to ease your mind. There is never any judgement on where you are today financially. Everyone goes through good and bad times, and we all make mistakes, and sometimes things happen to us that are out of our control. Whether you have gone through a divorce, sickness, job loss, or in debt from bad money choices, the good news it that you are taking the first step in reaching out. I’m here to listen, (if you cry it’s ok! Many people do!!) and then once I know exactly what it is you want to accomplish – i.e. getting out of debt, preparing for kids education, saving for a downpayment on a home, and so on, I can then begin working with you to help make those goals a reality. I promise you will feel so much better after we chat, knowing there is someone that has been there, will help you through.
I can’t wait to meet you!
